Our Gardens For Grade School Grants Program And Earth Day…A Beautiful Combination

Gardens For Grade School Grants - Logo Final Cropped

Earth Day is all about honoring our planet and recognizing that it  needs a little help. Being  members of the “green industry” we could think of no better way to celebrate the day than by helping to beautify two local elementary schools through our Gardens For Grade School Grants program.

Each year, Allentuck Landscaping Co. offers $1,000 grants to local schools to be spent on beautification programs. Improvements to the landscape at public schools is usually paid for by the school’s PTA. Our grants allow the PTA’s to use that money for other purposes and Allentuck Landscaping Co. gets to show off what we do best, making beautiful landscapes.

This year, we were honored to work with Stone Mill Elementary School and Dufief Elementary School.

At Stone Mill, Reina Mendoza, Reina Vasques, Cory Lapp and their team pruned and cleaned up overgrown shrub areas, cut back perennials, removed debris, and installed mulch. This spring clean up not only improved the appearance of the school grounds, it also improved the health of the plants.

A Dufief, Jesus Ventura, Adam Norton and their team replaced rotting wooden timbers surrounding a row of Zelcova trees in front of the school. These timbers had become unsightly and posed a safety risk. Our team carefully removed them and replaced them with fresh timbers that will last for years.

We are honored to be able to play a mall role in improving the landscape at community schools, and very happy to celebrate Earth Day with them.
