A New Front Walkway Can Give Your Home A Fresh Look

Sometimes a new look is just what a home needs to feel fresh again. We have gathered 8 walkways that Allentuck Landscaping Co. has designed and installed over the last few years to provide you with front walkway ideas and to  give you new thoughts about how to make your front entry look brand new. Each front entry idea shows either a different pattern or material combination. Some are very simple front walkway ideas and some are a bit more complicated. We hope they spark some brilliant ideas inside of you, and, of course, we hope you contact us to help you bring our front walkway ideas to life.

A Place To Greet and Relax

Who says a walkway just has to be a walkway? This front entry is also used for greeting guests and for simply relaxing at the end of the day. Surrounded by flowers and the sound of water from the wall fountain, it is a great place to simply unwind.

Method: Pennsylvania Flagstone Set On Concrete

Simple and Stately

Brick pavers make an excellent front entry walkway. In this project, a simple basket weave pattern with a soldier edging course compliments the flagstone threshold beautifully. The white columns on the stoop were preserved to give a stately look.

Method: Brick Pavers Set On Sand

Elegance

Pennsylvania flagstone always makes for a classic front walkway. In this project, it is set on concrete for a formal look. The width of the walkway works well with the steps and allows for two people to walk side by side.

Method: Pennsylvania Flagstone On Concrete

‘Nawlins’ Charm

The architecture of this home is straight out of New Orleans, so the walkway is too. Flagstone bordered with reclaimed brick with a large transition area gives this walkway its charm. The front stoop riser is even faced with reclaimed brick to complete the look.

Method: Pennsylvania Flagstone and Reclaimed Brick on Concrete

Casual Afternoon

This front entry area is the perfect place to chill out on a nice afternoon. A small table and some chairs and you have your own sidewalk cafe.

Method: Brick Pavers on Sand; Flagstone on Concrete Stoop With Natural Stone Risers

Naturally!

For this walkway we recycled natural stone, not an easy task as it required closely fitting odd shaped pieces together. It came together beautifully.

Method: Natural Stone On Concrete

Contemporary Perfection

This walkway compliments the contemporary architecture of the home perfectly. Sleek, clean lines lead guests right to the front door through stone walls.

Method: Pennsylvania Flagstone On Concrete; Natural Stone Walls

Porch With A View

To create this entry we had to push back a hill, build a stone retaining wall and steps, and expand the porch. Lots of great evenings are spent in this unique space.

Method: Pennsylvania Flagstone On Concrete With Natural Stone Risers, Natural Stone Retaining Wall, Iron Railing

The bottom line is that there have never been more different materials and methods available to create just the right way for you to get to your home. Allentuck Landscaping Co. can help you decide which way is right for you.

The Best Privacy Trees for Homeowners: Green Giant Arborvitae vs. Leyland Cypress vs. Cryptomeria

Backyard privacy shouldn’t be complicated. Homeowners just want a fast-growing, good-looking screen that blocks noise, hides neighboring windows, and makes a yard feel like a retreat. The best privacy trees can do all of that, and more. But not every evergreen behaves the same way. Some shoot up like rockets. Others handle cold better. Some stay dense year-round with almost no babysitting. Choosing the right one matters, or you’ll be staring at gaps, browning branches, or a tree that simply
