Allentuck Landscaping’s Inside Dirt – May 2017

Are We There Yet?

One of the down sides to having a warm winter is that spring seems to drag on forever. Don’t get me wrong, I love spring and the opportunity to get more work done sure beats the alternative.

But it can be exhausting for everyone. We are all working extra hours and the fact that there does not seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. I know how frustrating that can be.

Let’s not look at the negative. Let’s fill our glass half (or more) way up. We have all heard the stories of companies that are not even working 40 hours a week and that may be struggling. Let’s be grateful that we have plenty of work for the time being and that we have a ton of great customers who stand by us and appreciate the work we do.

I feel extremely fortunate to get to work with the best in the business, and some really great people. Together we will get through another spring. Let’s keep moving forward together.

With gratitude,

Bruce

Living Our Core Values

365 is a beautiful number.

It represents an entire year. Going an entire year without a work loss injury is a HUGE thing. I hope that everyone can grasp that. An entire year without someone getting hurt!

Sometimes I think we may be luckier than good. We do not have as strong safety policies as some other companies and we certainly do not have some of the resources they have. But at the end of the day, we have a dedicated team of professional landscapers who wear their Personal Protection Equipment without fail, use their tools safely and, most importantly, watch out for each other.

Let’s not stop at 365. Please continue, and even increase, the things you are doing to work safely and teach our less experience team members how to do so as well.

365 did not happen by accident. It happened because of YOU.

Presenting a professional image and working safely is one of our Core Values!

What to Look for When Hiring A Hardscape Contractor Near You (and What to Avoid)

If you’ve been searching “hardscape contractor near me” lately, you already know how overwhelming it is. Every company says they’re “the best,” every ad promises “premium craftsmanship,” and all the websites start to blur together after a while. But here’s the truth: not all hardscape contractors are the same. Some will turn your backyard into a place you’ll love for years. Others? They’ll leave you with uneven pavers, poor drainage, and a mess that costs twice as much to fix.
