Plant Sale / Visitors Center South Terrace

  • Purchase locally grown Native plants, annuals, perennials, ferns , trees and shrubs. Not all the plants are native but all will beautify your garden, reduce carbon dioxide and clean the air!

Green Craft and Educational Vendor Fair / Gude Garden

  • Join us for a green craft fair this Earth Day! Browse craft tables featuring local vendors selling items made from reused, recycled, up-cycled, responsibly harvested, organic, plant related or sustainable products.
  • Our green vendors will demonstrate products or services that help the earth.

Master Gardener Plant Clinic 12:00 – 4:00; Gude Garden

Activities for Children & Families

Location: Gardens behind the Visitors Center and near the Conservatories

  • Grow Your Own Vegetable Garden – Pot up your own lettuce plant to take home and make a delicious salad with. Learn how to start your own vegetable garden and the importance of local produce.
  • Pollinator Seed Ball – Have fun learning about the importance of native plants while you create a seed ball to take home and start your own pollinator garden.
  • Community Sidewalk Art Project – A fun and creative outlet for children to engage in and help create a beautiful mural.
  • Face Painting
  • Drum For Joy!: Enjoy learning basic hand drum techniques and how to make your drum sing!  All ages are welcome to experience the magic of music making and the joy of drumming in a group! Times: 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm (each session lasts 30 min).

Activities and exhibits include rocket-building (and launching), telescope viewing, a travelling planetarium, all kinds of robots, backyard wildlife, ship models, microscopes, snakes, oyster farming, botball, stream science, a pigeon release, Civil War medical practice, coding challenges, math puzzles, chemistry in action (flames, explosions & other reactions), electric vehicle demos, quadcopters, archeaology mini-digs, 3D printing, and brain games.
